IOP Mental Health Treatment for Teens

An IOP for teens provides several hours of treatment for a few days per week, allowing your loved one to get the help that they need without forcing them to miss out on family, school and social commitments that inpatient and even PHP may disrupt.

Of course, if your loved one needs more intensive treatment than an IOP, the time to get that help is always as soon as possible. However, if they are exploring treatment for the first time or stepping down from a higher level of care, this program may be right for them.

How Can an Intensive Outpatient Program Help Your Teen?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mental health issues in adolescents are on the rise and do not look like they are slowing down anytime soon. Mental health issues in teens can impact the rest of their lives, as this is an incredibly important time in their development.

Failing classes, social isolation or getting in trouble with the law now can negatively impact their lives in the future. An IOP for teens can get them the treatment they need and help put your loved one back on the right track for the future.

Who Can Benefit from an Adolescent IOP?

An adolescent IOP can help teens who are:

  • Struggling with frequent or intense worrying
  • Having sleeping issues
  • Showing signs of self-harm or talking about suicidal ideation*
  • Experiencing mood swings
  • Finding themselves suddenly struggling with school
  • Withdrawing from friends or social activities
  • And more

* If you believe your teen is experiencing a mental health emergency, CALL 988 or seek the nearest emergency room.
